Applicants will be required to obtain First Aid and CPR Certifications prior to starting work. All applicants must be at least 18 y/o and have a clean criminal background (applicants must be willing to submit to a background/credit check).

DC Youth Tours (DCYT) is a growing sightseeing and tour company in Washington, DC with a highly energetic corporate-social responsibility interest. The company not only provides families with a unique way to enjoy the city, but also contributes to projects like Youth Weekend Summer Science/STEM workshops and neighborhood youth gardens.. Now, DCYT is reaching out to higher – to higher-ed!
We’re looking for teams of 1-5 students create, present and launch their ideas for taking DCYT to the next level! Unlike many other competitions, in this challenge, you and your team won’t have to wait years to hear back from the judges, nor will you wait months to get your hands dirty – DCYT and its owners are about action. submit your application, then jump to it and start showing your proposal works to progress to the next round! .yes, it is that easy!

DCYT is seeking to develop and implement a new group sales strategy. The strategy should include elements of social media outreach, developing new contacts/networks with organizations, companies and facilities for partnerships (conference/event centers, convention and meeting centers), leverage new high-impact persons of interest (meeting planners, event organizers, conference hosts/managers).
1. DCYT has decided to put a significant effort to the development of America’s students in higher education to challenge them to create this new program. Students of each team should be enrolled at least ¼ time at an institution of higher education at the time of application (study abroad, Peace Corps, AmeriCorps and similar students may apply).
2. Participants may only join one (1) team/application.
3. There will be three (3) top prizes with judging being done in a ‘play-off’ style system.
a. The first round of judging will occur at the application submission – proposals will be assessed by DCYT staff and accepted proposals will go to round 2;
i. At this time, teams may begin moving forward with a more in-depth proposal AND putting it to action!
1. NOTE: unlike other competitions, at this point any progress you are able to measure can begin winning your team ‘points’ in the form of scholarship dollars based on successful application of your proposal – so even if your team is not a finalist, you can continue on and still earn scholarship funds and other awards!
b. The second round of judging will take place when the accepted applicant pool reaches 35 teams or May 10th (whichever comes first);
c. Round three will happen on May 15th where DCYT leadership will judge proposals as well as their progress. The top 7 teams will move on to the next round (NOTE: teams not selected may tweak/adjust their proposals and continue to earn scholarship points and other awards – you might be down, but not out, persistence wins the day!)
d. Round four will begin measuring teams by weighting their sales productivity more significantly. The top three teams will be identified and move on to the final round on May 25th with Round 5 (June 3rd) closing out the completion and the top team being awarded the contract to develop and implement DCYT’s 2017-18 expansion plan.
